The days are shorter, the breeze is fresher and our winter coats have made their way out of storage, once again—the winter season is definitely here! At SurFACEskin, we want to keep you looking and feeling healthy this season.

When the cold days hit, it may be tempting just to stay inside, warm and wrapped up under a blanket, but being proactive about your wellbeing can help you get through the chilly months and emerge glowing, and healthier than ever.

There are four main areas to focus on when it comes to giving your winter wellness a boost- healthy foods, self care, movement and mindfulness.

By incorporating all four focuses into your daily routine, you’ll give yourself the best chance to stay healthy all winter long.

Healthy Foods
When it comes to healthy foods, according to the Dietitian’s Association of Australia, tapping into nutritious comfort foods is one of the easiest strategies to boost your immune system. Eating foods high in Vitamin C, zinc and protein can help to decrease the likelihood of illness. Meals like pumpkin soup, baked fish (both high in zinc), and bone broth are perfect winter warmers that will do wonders for both your digestive and immune systems. Adding citrus fruits, such as lemon or orange, into tea and hot water can also provide a much-needed boost to help fight off nasties.

Self Care

On the Self Care front, with a slightly less social calendar, now is the perfect time to do a “Skin Gym”. At SurFACEskin, we have curated an ideal program for this time of year, to leave your skin stronger, healthier and more vibrant than ever! Results can set you up for the next 6-9 months for a smooth sailing skin journey.

Treatment 1  – Skin Needling with Collagen Infusion Mask

Using a surgical grade needling device, we create microscopic channels all over the skin, stimulating your natural collagen and elastin production, while also delivering actives to the sub-dermal layers of your skin. Completed with a soothing hydrating mask and SynergieSkin finishing products.

Treatment 2 – Tetra Peel, LED Light Therapy & Bio-Alginate Mask

This SynergieSkin peel packs a punch and is ideal for resurfacing the skin post the summer months. You will notice an improvement in pigmentation, uneven skin tone and lackluster skin. Combined with our signature LED Light therapy and Bio-Alginate Mask, revealing a brighter, more balanced and hydrated complexion. Low-risk, high-glowing results your skin deserves!!

Treatment 3 – Skin Booster

Ready to take your skin to the next level? The Skin Booster is a cutting edge treatment used with our incredible V2 applicator to infuse into the skin Hyaluronic acid with 17 amino acids to feed your skin like fertiliser. The result? More hydrated and healthy glowing skin that just keeps getting better in the weeks to months following your visit!

Don’t forget home care, using @synergieskin cosmeceutical range of active serums, hydrating moisturisers or nourishing masks can always improve your skin further at home and support your in clinic treatments.

Movement

When it comes to keeping active, it’s important to give yourself time to do a little extra warm-up and recovery in winter, to make sure you don’t injure your muscles. Adding an enjoyable activity like walking, sauna sessions or even our Vaculase lymphatic mechanical massage into your fitness regime can be a fantastic Movement support that helps to increase supply of blood and oxygen through the body, increasing wellbeing and vitality within and making exercise and recovery the highlight of your week!

Mindfulness

Finally, when it comes to Mindfulness, rugging up in layers of winter woolies can also help boost your immune system and fight off winter chills, but something as simple as breathwork can be a huge immunity booster, too. We highly recommend a class at Cntrspace; being guided through a session helps to provide direction and allows for an effortlessness that may be difficult to achieve on your own. Connecting your breath, heart and energy circulating through us, can be cultivated and channelled through breath techniques. If this isn’t for you why not try a quick 10 minute meditation in the comfort of your own home. We personally recommend the (Calm app) or if you want to dig deeper, a meditation session at centrspace.

Even though the weather may be chilly, there’s so much to see and do in winter, so rug up, eat well, make time for self care and nurture your immune system to keep your health in tip-top shape all season long!
